The open road - Delhi to Mandawa

36 lane toll booth

This is the 36 lane entry/exit of Delhi, 18 lanes going each way.  It is the normal polite push and shove to get into a lane, once in single file which is very unusual for Indians they normally like to bunch, you proceed to the ticket booth to pay your first toll of many along the way and then back into the chaotic mish mash of cars all heading the same direction.  It is amazing how it all happens in such a considerate but determined manner.
Ganesh is keeping us safe on the roads

It is a relief to leave Delhi to see blue sky and the open road.

How many can we fit into a tuk tuk?

Jim has taken to sitting in the front seat, he says it is like being in a 3D movie.  He says he has more leg room but I think he likes being a co driver (control freak), just in case Deepak hasn’t seen that big lorry in front or the camels, cows, goats, donkeys, family on motorbike, Rajasthani ladies with their bundles of sticks for firewood or any other of the many road hazards.
