Jaisalmer to Jodhpur 9 December 2012

Jaisalmer to Jodhpur was a 5 hour trip.
The poor car has suffered a few mishaps in the past two days.  Driving into the road of our hotel in Jaisalmer we drove into a crater and got stuck.  It was dark and Deepak just didn't see it.  Reversed out slowly but hubcap ran off down the road.  We were prepared to run after it but Deepak said "no problem, only 100Rps ($2) to buy" I would have still run after it.  Not too worry someone will pick it up and sell it on.
Then yesterday when we arrived here in Jodhpur Deepak noticed the rear light lens had fallen off.  It is a large corner one.  Not sure how much that will cost to replace.  Deepak said it happened after lunch before arriving in Jodhpur because he checks the car every time we stop.
Some parts of the road are very rough and others are smooth.  It could have shaken loose over the past few days.  Deepak has covered it with plastic for now.
The lunch stop was a small red fort, very cute and cool inside with marble floors and yummy food, a yellow dahl with vegetable rice.  There are certain places to stop for lunch which are "clean" as Deepak says - good for foreigners.  All well so far on the Delhi belly front.

Little Red Fort, our lunch stop - the car with lens intact

Our accommodation - Kuchaman Haveli
The haveli is inside the old city of Jodhpur in a residential neighbourhood.  The family live on site and are very friendly.  They also have a large hot solar water system on the roof.  It is so enjoyable to have a hot shower.
Walked around the neighbourhood before dinner.  Everyone is in cruise mode as it is Sunday.  Children all wanting to practice their English on you.
Will go and visit the fort and palace tomorrow.
