Udaipur Sights 12 Dec 2012

We started the day with an Ayurvedic full body massage.  Jim said the head massage felt like he had insects running round his head.  I’ll admit it did feel odd but invigorating.  My hair will be oily for quite a few days now with all the oil that was used, at least it is better than straw hair.  The massage was 50 mins for 750 Rps/$15, the best $15 I've ever spent.
Feeling relaxed, well oiled and smelling like incense we filled the day visiting the city palace, took a sunset boat ride on the lake and watched the heritage dance display in the evening.  The dancers were entertaining especially the oldest (and roundest) lady dancing & balancing many pots on her head.
Inside the old city, which is where we were staying, is aimed at foreigners with all the usual shopping paraphernaila which tourists like, including us.
I saw a sign for yoga but was scared to go because the pictures looked like a contortionist studio.
There is never silence with the Hindu prayer bells being rung intermittently during the day and the Muslim “call to prayer” five times a day.  Devotion is an amazing thing.
