Caught a taxi to the Chandni Chowk in Old Delhi. It is a chaotic network (like everything in Delhi) of streets filled with wholesalers that sell to shops and importers. Went for a rickshaw ride to have a look around. It is hard not to feel guilty with this man peddling hard to carry us around but I think it is the difference between eating one meal a day or two for them. Maybe not that drastic but you never know.
We stopped off at the spice markets. You can just imagine the mix of aromas, tumeric seemed the strongest. Stopped at the below shop for a taste and smell sensation. This shop sells to the popular Australian brand "Herbies". For you Master Chef groupies George shopped here, we were shown a photo to prove it. Luckily we knew who he was considering, we don't watch the show. You pick up enough from the ads.

ReplyDeleteIf you click on the photo, it should bring them all up larger, it might help to see it better.
ReplyDeleteIt is lying on top of the sack on the cart, left side of photo. It is deceiving when I say on top of the chillies not the red pile, the pile on the cart. You can't tell they are chillies because they are covered.
great photos
