Don't mind the ticket litter |
In past visits to Delhi the Red Fort has been closed but this time we were in luck. We had planned to see the light and sound show but ended up going this morning to fill in time before the Tata phone shop opened. We were trying to buy a network wifi card for the laptop. No luck! The process takes up to 5 working days. You fill out the application, the shop sends someone around to your place of residency to verify "you are who you say you are" then you might be given one. Indian bureaucracy at work, in the war against terrorism, that is their reasoning. Luckily, Deepak our driver has offered us his for the next couple of weeks. We'll just pay him for his monthly plan.
Anyway getting back to the fort, it was very impressive so I talked Jim to going again that night to see the show. It was good fun. The story was about the history of the kings of India over the centuries who lived in the fort.
The night was cold but it felt good to be outside under the stars, the odd one or two you could see (through the pollution layer).
