Goodbye to our friends of Lighthouse Beach

Today is Sunday and we have had interrupted Internet connection since Friday so this blog is backdated.  Not sure how much I will be able to post over the next week.  Wifi is not reliable on the road.

Yesterday (Friday) was our last day in Kovalam.
I started the day with yoga then Jim and I went for a walk along the beach before breakfast.  Our last breakfast of fresh juice, caffe latte and pancakes overlooking the fisherman below.
Mid morning I wandered off for a facial.  I almost fell asleep, at least my body did.  Shimna, the beautician was humming a song every now and then while she massaged.  It was very relaxing.  I know you must be thinking how much more relaxed can she be after spending 7.5 weeks on the beach.
While I was enjoying my pampering Jim went off for a beard trim (known as a half beard) and a haircut.  He is set for Dubai now.  Kenny recommended that Jim arrive with a neat and trim hair and beard.  The Emirates are quite particular about neat and tidy appearances.

Walking along the promenade throughout the day we said good -bye to the locals whom we have developed casual friendships with.  Word spreads quickly everyone knows today is our last day.
At sunset we sat on the steps looking out over the beach and chatted with our friends and patted Shanti one last time.
We have enjoyed our time in Kerala and still can't believe how fast the time has flown.

Below are photos of a few of the people we chat to every day.
